I have officially been in London for 10 days now! I can’t believe how fast the time has gone, which is a good thing and a bad thing, because that means that I’m loving it but, it also means that my time here will definitely fly by. One thing I always do when I come to a new city is see the sights. Yes, that’s a super touristy thing to do but, I like to see the history and the icons that make a city that city. So, Chandler and I tried to see the sights, but I got held up on campus with registration, so by the time we were able to see anything it was getting dark. However, when we walked on the bridge and I saw Big Ben I was so happy. It finally set in that I was in London. I had never seen my dreams actualized before and being here, studying abroad really sunk in the fact that I am doing something I have only, up until now, dreamed about. It’s ironic that something so minuscule and so simple as seeing the sights gave me such an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment and gratitude for all the work it took me to get here, and how much hard work it took for my parents to be able to grant me this opportunity. So, thank you Big Ben, thank you London Eye, thank you Buckingham palace for welcoming me with open arms. This is going to be one hell of a ride.
